it's been a busy past couple of days haha.
On Tuesday I went with Priscilla to Native foods for dinner to get some vegan food :)
Priscilla got a ranch club sandwich, and I got a portobello and sausage sandwich
my "sausage" was flavourless, and looked like a piece of bread...on top of my bun D:

yeah...i didn't really like what I got, and thought that Priscilla's was a lot tastier(it had nummy fake bacon :D)

yesterday, after class I went to a workshop thing on grad school for ALC majors/minors. But before that, there were a couple of hours in between class and the workshop, so I went with Chi and Mabel down into Westwood. First Chi had to stop back at her dorm so Mabel and I went to Ackerman to wait, where I got nummy nummy shaved ice for 55c (because I had a $3 off coupon YAY). We sat there forever and I finished my shaved ice before Chi came back XD. After she returned, we went to a little boutique so that Mabel could return a dress she'd bought that she didn't like, then went to this bakery called Elyse that has nummy pastries...except that a slice of cake is like $5 (i got a slice of hazelnut cake, and it set me back %5.03 haha D; ). After getting my piece of cake we went and got boba at bobaloca before heading back to Royce for the presentation, which was quite informative. Except...that the giy in my first class who NEVER. SHUTS. UP. was there, and apparently that's not the only place he never shuts up either, because he asked sooo many questions (some of them were kind of common sense questions too -.-' ). So...after that we went to Ackerman to look at the sale stuffs, but there wasn't really anything, so we parted and went our separate ways.\

Today...
I went with Diana to CVS and bought a hair straightener, new razor (i really needed a new one, all my ones here are rusty because I forget to take them out of the shower :( ), and some nailpolish and makeup supplies that i needed for tomorrow :)

oh. odd thing today. so far getting my meal tickets has been ok. except for the first one. and the last one. heh. this time, i gave the girl at the register the ticket and she didn't know what to do so she had to call a manager. She talked to this guy in white, who i guess wasn't the manager? (because she also had to leave at the same time to go to her other job across the way) and I had to wait foreverrrr. The guy was really nice though. ...kind of creepily nice ._.' He was like
"Sooo how are you doing today?"
"Ok"
"Just ok?! not angry or anything right?"
"Nope, just hungry"
"So, what was it you wanted"
"I was hoping to get the clam chowder"
"What? You said you were hungry? That's just an appetizer! You don't want a turkey sandwich or something?"
"No...just a clam chowder"
"Ok, follow me"
*drags me over and talks to staff*
"She'd like a clam chowder"
*staffguy* I knew you needed one 8D *hands one over that he'd had in his hand before the guy even came up

..so yes. that's been my week XD
 

so...today is May 18th, which means Kevin and I have been together for two years now
YAY! I'm glad we've made it this far, and don't have any intention on stopping anytime soon, and I'm sure he feels the same way :)
...sadly,  at the moment he's more than likely just about passed out from his three finals and paper that he had today ='[
since we're both at school and all, we're planning on celebrating together on friday, but we haven't yet decided on a place to go ><'

i not only forgot my bruincard (my school id card), but also my room card at home >.>'
and... i need my bruincard to eat and get into my building -_-' *sigh*
i got a new keycard, but there is no way i'm spending ANOTHER $25 on another id card >.>'
so... i'm toughing out the getting into the building thing (which basically means waiting until someone comes by that can let me in) and using the temp tickets that they give out if you misplace your card. the only thing is you only get 6 for the year. so... i figured if i buy lunch on my long days (m/w) when i'm on campus, then i have just enough tickets to get me through lunch on t/th and dinner every day 8D
...only thing is, as i said before, i'm an idiot -_-'
i woke up later than i should have and in my rush to get to class on time, i forgot to bring my wallet ><'
luckily, i was able to borrow money from Chi (YAY :D )

for dinner, i got a meal ticket from Rieber front desk, but the guy neglected to tell me to SIGN my name and CIRCLE the meal period...
so...I went all the way down to Puzzles and the girl there rejected me...thus making me run back up a bunch of flights of stairs and wait until someone else went into Rieber Hall so that I could ask the guy, and have him say oops, and have me sign, and then run back down to actually get my food *shakes fist* D:<

lets see...what else happened today...
OH. Mabel (she's in my Japanese and Japanese Ling class) almost off-ed Kawanishi Sensei >.o
when we were leaving class, she was holding the door, but didn't see anyone coming out so she let go ...with sensei really close to the door D:
...luckily I was able to catch the door before it slammed into sensei. That would not have been good if Mabel had smacked her in the face with it, those things are HEAVY >.o''
...we also had a quiz for our next class (with the same prof) so... it'd almost seem like LETS OFF SENSEI SO SHE CAN'T GIVE US THE QUIZ 8DD (I know she would never actually think that we'd do that, but still. XD)

and now... i should be back to working on hw XD

Friday was Tracy's birthday dinner. She picked me up around 11 and we went to the mall to hang out before she went to her tutor meeting (which I passed the time by sitting outside on my computer haha D; ). After that, we went to Kevin's house and went to Evikes to get her her birthday present (a mask and sling for her BB shotgun :D ) and meet up with Michael. After that, we went to Half & Half Tea House for drinks and then we split with the guys going to Kevin's house and Tracy and I to hers to wait for her friend Jennifer and pick up Audrey so we could go to dinner. Jacky called and said no one was at Kevin's house (which is where Tracy told him to meet up) and so came over to Tracy's house, and finally at like 6:15 Jennifer showed up (we were supposed to be at the restaurant at 6:30 D;) Luckily, Michael, Kevin, Joseph, and Amy had already left and gotten to the restaurant by 6:30 so woot. We parked in a parking structure a couple of blocks away, and ran into Nhung on the way out of the elevator. After talking to her for a couple of minutes, we raced over to Cafe Bizou and got there around 7 or so and sat down, but Emily still hadn't shown up (...and she'd called at around 6, but then never answered our calls because she was driving). We waited for a while and decided to order, and leave Emily a menu. She called and it had sounded like she was close, but she was still on the freeway and didn't arrive until sometime past 7:30, right when our food arrived D:. so...we all ate, and after dinner Emily had to go, but the rest of us stuck around for a bit more to talk and stuff, and squabble over the bill. Somehow we were short a bunch of dollars and I don't understand how (but... I assume that Emily only leaving enough for dinner and not tip threw us off, and trying to figure out how much for everyone who was pitching in to pay for tracy's meal wasn't correct either... hrm...) But yeah, Amy ended up absorbing the cost (THANK YOU omfg D: ). After dinner, Tracy, Audrey, Jacky and Jennifer left, and the rest of us headed over to Amy's house to watch Amadeus before going home :)

Saturday was just a Kevin and me day ^^ We went to the Los Angeles Arboretum (it's a foresty park place) and walked around for a while looking at all of the plants, and watching the peacocks, squirrels, geese, and other animals...frolic? haha. It was soooo hot though, and we fried in the sun, but it was a lot of fun, and even though it's a month early, it  just felt like the right atmosphere, so I gave Kevin his anniversary present in the rose gardens (I got us matching engraved tungsten carbide rings ^^' )
we walked around some more (...trekked along a nicely NOT shaded path is more like it haha) until we'd gone around the whole park and finally went back to Kevin's house to collapse from exhaustion for a good couple of hours. We had planned to get some sandwiches for dinner, but instead ended up eating whatever Kevin's mom had cooked for dinner (so good omnom) and then gone to Fosselmans to get ice cream for dessert. We got a prepacked half-gallon of chocolate raspberry mousse, and I got my mom a prepacked pistachio. Funny story with that, Kevin reached over to get the pistachio out of the case, but I told him to leave it alone...and while we were deciding what to get, someone reached over and took the pistachio! D; He finally got to have a "Why didn't you listen to me?!" moment...which puts us at like... 1-50 XDD but luckily they had another in the back. We dropped off the pistachio for my mom, and then went back to Kevin's house to eat ours. It was so nummy, and even Kevin's dad liked it...so I bet there won't be any left next weekend ><' lol
After dessert, we ended up watching a couple of hours of dramas before it was late and Kevin took me home. I did some laundry, and took a shower, and finally went to sleep around 4am or so =_='

Today...started pretty badly >.o. Kevin said he wanted to be at Empress Harbour for dimsum at 11... so I got up around 10 so I could get ready, but when I called him at 11 something, he was in the shower -_-' And after that, he HUNG UP on me when I was still talking to him ><' So... Michael finally picked me up at like almost 12, we went to Kevin's house to meet up with Kevin and Joseph and we got to the dimsum place at like 12:30 ...which by then I was pretty pissed off, -_-' (which...is probably an understatement. but I hate being late, and especially when it happens so often, i finally snapped). We had some nummy dimsum (although I left not very sated) and then went to Kevin's house where I ended up wandering off to the Cherry Blossom festival by myself and went over to talk to Tatsugawa-sensei (she was my teacher/the principal at my japanese school in high school!). Walked around some more, tailed Kevin, Joseph, and Michael (who were trying to find me since I'd kind of just left Kevin's house without saying anything), and eventually, ran into Connie, William, and Angela. We talked for a bit, and after Kevin and I went off and settled some stuff, we all headed off to what is now known as The Batcave! (aka, Kevin's garage, because it is so much cooler than outdoors). After a bit though, I had to go to my uncle's birthday dinner, so Kevin took me home and...my aunt basically kidnapped him D= So...he kind of had to tell everyone who was hanging out in his garage that he wasn't coming back so they'd have to leave =/ sorry guys!! D:
So...we ended up going to Taihei for dinner, and then came back to my house and had cake and stuff before everyone started leaving and my uncle Jon brought me back to school :D

so...tuesday was a continuation of monday. stephanie went to work, leaving diana, priscilla, and me to handle her little sister amanda.
in infinite wisdom, priscilla gave her a bit of brownie AND a tofu ice-cream sandwich...which...she threw on the floor -.-' (priscilla asked her if she wanted it, and she said yes, because she wanted to throw it, and priscilla STILL GAVE IT TO HER...and then she threw it -_-' Luckily it was still wrapped >.>' )
But yeah... all that sugar = child bouncing off of walls omg D; She just wouldn't sit still or shut up, or leave me alone. ...at first i was thinking hey, kids arent sooo bad, but oi -_-'

anyways, priscilla's parents came too, and they brought her nephew. he's so cute <33 he's only a few months old so... he's still at the cute, can't do too much except cry, poo, and babble stage XD

after that, i got food and by the time i came back, priscilla's parents had left, and stephanie's sister had gotten picked up so YAY D;
i was kind of getting weary of having a green light shown in my eye, called the hulk, hit with a huge monkeyplush, having my hair totally destroyed (and having it blamed on the monkey...) and told i'm stupid for having money and not having new clothes (wtfh?!)
so...yeah ._.'

anyways, not much else has been happening, except today, I felt up a squirrel! 8D
or well...what happened was I was walking back from class with one of my classmates and at the end of the walkway there's a trashcan (the kind with the flap) and there was a squirrel in it with it's back end hanging out. So, I was like "Hmm... I wonder if it'll notice if i go up to it." and Jay was like DO ITTT 8DD So... I went over and touched it's tail, and it freaked out and jumped out of the trashcan and crouched there staring at me in the walkway, before i left and...it probably went back to foraging haha

and that, was my excitement for the day. the only other thing i did was ditch class. i woke up at 7am, got ready, and then was like...i haven't finished the book, screw it, and went back to sleep for another like 3 hours haha D;

Friday, Kevin took me back to my house to pick up my purse, and then the bank so i could get money before we went to Lee's tofu for lunch. After lunch we went back to his house and waited for Joseph, Tracy, and Michael to show up with their BB guns. We messed around with the...growing assortment of pistols, shotguns, etc for a while until going to Big 5 to look for a case for Tracy's shotgun. We ended up not getting anything though, and Joseph took Tracy's gun for the time being while we find out what kind of cases we have to have to be allowed into a BB gun shooting arena place haha.
Tracy went home a little after that, and the rest of us picked up Amy and ended up going to Casa Calderon for some nummy dinner. After dinner, we didn't know where to go so we just bummed at Kevin's house while he...passed out on the couch from not getting enough sleep ...only to be kicked in the shins by Terry who wanted his camera ...which started a huge fight that he lost because his mom basically told him to give Terry the camera so she'd stfu and stop screaming at like 1:30 in the morning =_='
After that time, we all went home and Joseph took Amy home while Michael took me home :)

Saturday, Kevin and I were supposed to go to The LA County Arboretum for a date (...which... we haven't had in what seems like forever)
But...since Terry took his camera to some stupid music festival, we rescheduled to April 18th >.>' So, instead he picked me up from home and we went to The Corner Kitchen (where Dodoro's used to be) for lunch. The food was ok, but I wasn't feeling very well (curse you cramps!! ><' ) so I ended up not finishing it and took it back to Kevin's house where we waited for Michael to get out of work. He got out, and we called Joseph and ended up going to Joseph's house for a while before going to The Congee for dinner. We had some time to kill before going to Lyn's house so we stopped at Phoenix Inn for drinks and then went back to Kevin's house until she called. Went to Ralph's to pick up pineapple juice and cranberry juice so she could make Caribbean Breezes and then headed off to her house where we played RockBand until like 1 when Michael had to go home. I've decided... having basically a liquid diet for a day, and then consuming any amount of alcohol = me semi-permanently attached to the toilet (having to pee! not from any sort of effects of being drunk >< I have more responsibility than that! >=[) ...i should be more careful next time haha.

Sunday, I went with Kevin to Joseph's house around 2 to hang out for a bit since Joseph was planning a Pay-per-view WrestleMania party/gettogether thing ...except no one came except for me and Kevin :( And contrary to what seems to be popular belief, i don't mind watching wrestling...the only thing I dislike is the horrid acting and stupid storylines -_-' The competitions themselves are ok though. Basically...the only sports I will willingly watch for more than 5 minutes is figure-skating, gymnastics, bull-riding, extreme sports, wrestling, boxing, and once in a greatttt while basketball...but that doesn't come around too often haha. So, no, I am not absolutely opposed to watching any kind of sports at all, just...most of them XD
Anyways, I had to leave at 5 to have dinner and go back to school, so I left them to their fan-boying and went home.
Oh yeah, Joseph's mom is like my aunt, with the magically appearing ice-cubes and not taking no when it comes to food/drinks haha D;

Monday...was a pretty shitty day to begin with. I stayed up late Sunday night trying to finish my linguistics homework and ended up oversleeping! :( I woke up at 8am, and class starts at 8am >.>' so I scrambled to get to class and managed to get there by 8:30 ...not bad considering my prof had changed our room number and building, and it's now in a building i've never been in -_-' I also had been planning on printing out my hw but priscilla's printer wasn't working, so I figured in between classes, I'd print at the library. Well...the line was so long I would never have gotten it printed in time, and so instead of finishing the 2nd part of my hw, I spent the time rewriting it on lined paper so at least I'd have something to turn in D:
Around 9 or so, I went with Diana and Priscilla to LAX to pick up Diana's sister from the airport. It took over an hour on the bus there, and about half an hour on the bus back. At least, I managed to finish more than half of my 245 page book that I have to read for tomorrow =D
We got back and met Thuy vy for dinner at De Neve Late night and went back to my room for a bit before everyone started going to sleep. Speaking of which, for the time being Thuy Vy is sleeping on our floor because she had surgery on her knee over spring break and can't get to her top bunk bed in her room.

Today is going a bit better at least! I'd forgotten how entertaining it is to have this one guy, Andrew, in my Japanese class. He comes up with the most random stuff constantly, so it keeps the class and even Kawanishi sensei laughing constantly haha. Today, we were talking about the word inki (陰気） which means like...gloom/melancholy and how it's related to kurai (暗い) which is like...dark/gloomy. So...he came up with a story. About a shark wanting to eat a squid and so it chases the squid and the squid squirts its ink (inki, ink get it?) which of course makes things dark (kurai) and so it gets away.
...i really don't think anyone else would be able to come up with shit like that XD

I lost the back bead to my industrial's barbell today...which i found out, when i hit the front one really hard with my comb (leaving me seeing stars -.-' )
but yeah... I've looked all over and I just can't find it (of course...the fact that it's tiny coupled with my house being all carpet means it's pretty hard to find anything that's dropped =/ )
i'm scared to sleep because i don't want the bar to fall out, and the hole to close during the night/beginning of the day... D:
so...hopefully tomorrow after lunch tracy will be willing to drive me to a piercing place around here so that I can buy either a new barbell, or at least get a new bead... ><' *crosses fingers*

anyways, yesterday was pretty fun! Tracy and I went to Evike where she got a BB shotgun, and I got myself a nice little M9 bb gun (to go with my...baretta?). After going to Evikes we went to the Montebello mall, where I got some new earrings, and then some of the new bath and body works Butterfly Flower scented perfume. which...comes with a free lotion already, and i had a coupon i'd printed out, so i also got a body cream for free YAY =). After that, we left and got tea at Tenrens and went to Tracy's house to mess with our new guns before she took me home.

tomorrow... should be pretty fun too =) Linda is back, and the CPP, CSULA people are off so... Tracy, Linda, Jacky (?), Michael, Emily(?), and I are planning on getting some lunch somewhere in Focus Plaza, waiting for Tina, and then figuring out what to do, which probably means going to the mall or park or something (...and also hopefully somewhere so i can get a new bead for my barbell DD: ...i hope wherever we go has 18g beads... they seem rather uncommon D: )

my monday, tuesday, and wednesday were spent trying to finish my 8-10 page paper for Japanese Tales of the Supernatural, and my 6-8 page paper for Pop and Folk Korean Religion. Me...being me, I finished them both on Wednesday. I finished the JToTS one Wednesday afternoon.

Kevin picked me up Wednesday to take me to CSULB and I finished my Korean paper about an hour after I arrived at his dorm.
The rest of my trip till Friday afternoon ...
well...
lets just say it wasn't what either of us was expecting or hoping for, (and i mean that in the worst way possible) but was probably something that was somewhat inevitable.
and now that it's over, i have faith that things will be much better =)

anyways, we came back Friday afternoon, and met up with Tracy to go to this store in San Gabriel called Evike. They sell paintball and BB guns, as well as gear and whatnot. Tracy bought a gun, we split a pack of BBs, each of us got a speed loader, and I bought myself a target so I can actually practice and get some aim (because well... I have no hand-eye coordination to be able to hit anything, even if its right in front of me haha)

After that, we went back to Kevin's house to divy up the stuff before she went home, and we went to Michael's to get him and go to Thai Paradise for dinner. The food there is pretty good! Afterwards, we went back to Michael's house for a while and the guys played some SSBB before we went home.

 Saturday morning, I had to go with my family to my grandma's 40th/50th memorial service thingy at Konko church. It's not actually the 50th day until this coming Friday, but Tsuyuki Sensei combined the services since he was going to be out of town, and because it's hard for everyone to get together every 10 days (I missed the other one so... ).

After the service, my family went across the street to the cemetery to put flowers for my great grandparents. Which...of course meant fighting and  deception while my Auntie Yoko tried to reject my grandpa's money for the flowers >.>' (lots of running away from her by the whole family after someone managed to stuff the money in her pocket -_-'' )
Once we did that we went to lunch at this little cafe called Takumi in Little Tokyo where everyone got split up into three tables.

Once I got home, I went to go hang out at Kevin's house.
The rest of Saturday ended up being just Kevin and I (and I really think we needed it anyways haha D; )
We bummed at his house pretty much the whole time and ended up watching Life Is Beautiful and a bunch of episodes of Cupid no Itazura and Denchi ga Kireru Made, with a pause in there for dinner at a place who's main focus is congee (rice porridge).

and now i'm officially on spring break. hopefully it isn't too boring =)

So...yesterday we went back to Andy with updates on what's been happening and he set up a meeting with Diana, Thuy Vy, and I and the RD on duty at the time. We told him some stuff and he kind of advises us with how to act and handle her and stuff since there's really not much that we can do except support her and keep trying to get her to come with us to do stuff and not just sit around alone and stuff like that. Before that though, Stephanie had this idea to call Priscilla's older sister and tell her what had happened, but she didnt believe anything that Stephanie and Diana said, and just brushed it off like she's fine. She called priscilla and asked her what had happened but of course she lied since she doesnt want her parents to find out >.>' Stephanie and Diana called back again, and a bit after that Priscilla's sister called her again, and basically told her that to have her annoying friends stop calling because they were pissing her off.
...wait what?
them trying to tell her that hey, her baby sister has a problem, and who knows, if it gets bad enough might not even be around anymore, was met with you're annoying me, go away.

...i don't understand how one could be so non-chalant about something like this. >.>'


but anyways, things have been ok since then, so we'll see what happens from here.

So... my weekend was kind of busy haha.
On Friday, Kevin came over to my house and got fawned over by my Auntie Ellen (while my uncle Jon and I snickered in the background XD). ...but of course my Uncle got it even worse since he got squished by her haha (it was his birthday the day before so... XD). But yeah, she kept telling him how cute he was and stuff XDD. A family friend came over to pick her up, so everyone sort of sat around for a bit talking and stuff until Kevin and I left to go over to help Michael move around and set up some stuff at his new place. We got snacks at a nearby bakery and worked for a bit more before picking up Amy and then meeting Joseph at Green Zone for dinner. After dinner we went back to Michael's old apartment for a while before going back to his new place and bumming until his mom kicked us out. After that, we went to Cha for Tea where we ran into Patty!! ...but didn't get to talk to her for long since she was with her friend =( (Pattyyyy we have to hang out sometime! >< ). Anyways, we sat around for a pretty long time talking about our families and childhood memories and stuff before everyone headed off for home.

Saturday, I went over to Kevin's house and we just sat around watching dramas and stuff until Joseph came over and we went to Michael's condo. We ended up going to Yazmin (a malaysian restaurant in Alhambra) for dinner. The food was good *g*. Afterwards, we got some mango froyo at a froyo place called Cocoyogurt before going back to put away all of the transformers and stuff that michael has. We stopped and bummed around for a bit longer before going home.

On Sunday I weeded (again). I'm mostly done, but I still have a little bit left. while weeding, I realized that we have termites X_X. I poked at our bathroom door (the master bedroom's bathroom has a door that leads to the backyard that's been painted shut for years) and out popped a couple of baby termites >.o' So...now, in addition to the black mold of doom, we also apparently have termites to deal with -_-''

Today I woke up early to sign up for my last class for next quarter, and went back to sleep before going to class, and now I'm just bumming around procrastinating on hw XD

The weekend wasn't tooo eventful. On Friday, I finished up a posting for class, and then Kevin took me to the bank to get some money. After that, we met up with Michael at Kevin's house and waited for Tracy to come before going to a vietnamese restaurant in San Gabriel for lunch. Afterwards we went back to Kevin's house for a while before Tracy had to go home. After she left, we hung around for a bit more before going to Toy R Us

Saturday Kevin and I went to Rosemead SDA church again. Kevin picked me up late, so we ended up going to the youth service that starts later =). After the service was over, we talked to the pastor of the church who is actually quite young (mid-late 20s?) considering the attendees are all in the 40+ range. After that we got some food from Claro's and bummed at Kevin's house until we went to Michael's house to help him pack up some more stuff. Joseph came over and we ended up going to the vegetarian restaurant in Focus Plaza for dinner. After that, we went back to Michael's house where the boys played SSBB while I did hw for class =_='

The rest of my week has been busyyyyy. I had to finish writing a paper for Japanese, and sign up for classes.

Wednesday night, I didn't sleep till 7am (...which makes it Thursday morning?) and I had to wake up at 9:30 to get ready for class D;
I had to read for one of my classes and post something, and then I had to finish writing and recording my Wimba speech, and then after that I realized that I had to rewrite my 3 page paper/speech so...yay, not much sleep for me =_='

Wednesday night, I went to In n Out with Priscilla, Thuy Vy, and Diana. Stephanie has been MIA for the past couple of weeks because of some stuff we're not supposed to know about (that we know about anyways shhhh). Anyways, the last time that it was just us 4, we saw ambulances and fire trucks and stuff because the next building over had that idiot with the homemade bomb. So...we were sitting down and once again we saw trucks and stuff go by...which of course worried us D:. "No more coming to In n Out, everytime we do, something bad happens D:" we said haha. The ambulances and whatnot were going more towards frat row though, so I dunno what happened. It wasn't the school this time at least D:

she's really gone...

My grandma passed away at 9:50am on Friday's very rainy morning.

My mom and I had just walked into my grandparents house to pick up my grandpa and my aunt that had come from canada the day before, so that we could all go visit her at Keiro when my grandpa got a call saying she had passed away...

The last time I saw her on Sunday, she had been sleeping the whole time, until her pain meds wore off I suppose... It was stressful watching her move and groan in pain when the meds they gave her hadn't kicked in yet. At that point, she hadn't eaten or really drank anything since the Saturday before, and hadn't even been able to swallow pills =/

At least she's not suffering pain anymore from the cancer, and the hospice nurses that were there when she passed said that she died peacefully, so that's a good thing.

Less than two weeks ago they said she had a few weeks to live. By last tuesday, it was down to a week, and by wednesday they said 24-48 hours. =/

When my mom picked me up Thursday night, she told that I had better visit grandma both days because she didn't have much longer to live
By that point her temperature had been rising, and she was having problems breathing and was hooked up to oxygen. But they said by Thursday she wasn't really in pain anymore. ...It would have been nice to see her alive one more time, but...

At least, my aunt managed to get here from canada on Thursday and see her one last time, I'm glad for that because she hadn't been planning on coming for another couple of weeks D=

Anyways, after we found out, we all headed to Keiro to say goodbye. My auntie yoko(well...great aunt) was already there, a  bit later my uncles ron and jon came, and then auntie yoko's husband roland and their son greg.

I have to say... it's kind of a peculiar feeling talking about someone while their body is still there in the room and you can visibly watch as it slowly grows more and more pale...

everyone said their goodbyes, with my grandpa giving her one last kiss. it was pretty poignant because I don't think I've seen him kiss her ever... =/

so... someone came to pick up her body, and my auntie yasuko got there JUST when he did, because she hadn't gotten the messages we'd left for her since she wasn't at home until like 3 hours later. So...she only got to see her for a few seconds before they took her away =(

Afterwards, the family went to Oomasa in Little Tokyo to eat together ^^

Her funeral is going to be a Konko kyo funeral ...which I guess you could say is like a sect of shinto-ism.

Saturday was the first service thing to start her on her journey. I didn't go but it involved Tsuyuki sensei I guess moving her spirit from her body into a box on the altar.

The funeral is Friday morning at Konko kyo church, and they're going to combine the 10th day memorial service (which would be on sunday) with it. Next comes the 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, and 100th day memorials. After the initial service, the 50th and 100th are the most important ones. After the 50th day one I guess she'll be buried. (She'll be cremated, so that won't be a problem).

Since then, my grandma and aunt's friends Kenbo and Yuki brought a huge amount of bentou on Saturday, and her friend Sasajima Obasan (who is like 93 and whom she hadn't talked to in years) brought a ginormous bowl of sushi on sunday.

And Tracy came by on Sunday as well to drop of a beautiful glass swan vase with a rose and a card. (Thank you again! ^^' ). I took a picture of it, but i don't have my camera's connector cable here at school ><'

Everything is slowly starting to sink in... ;~;


53 years my grandparents were married...

This isn't the best picture of her, but it's the only one I have on my computer. It's from Thanksgiving 2006 ^^;

So...they moved my grandma from City of Hope to Keiro nursing home last Monday (actually...she was at Santa Anita Convalescent, but they moved her to Keiro on ...Tuesday I guess?). The round of chemo they did at City of Hope a couple of weeks ago totally knocked her out. Another round would kill her, so thats it for the chemo, there's not really anything else they can do. So the hospice services are basically to try and keep her as comfortable as possible (which... isn't working so well actually... >.o )

But anyways, my whole family finally knows everything.

My mom had told my grandpa to call her when they moved my grandma so that she could meet him at the new place. He called her at like 8:30am to come to the hospital, I assume to call my grandma down. She was trying to get them to let her go home, and saying that she wanted a lawyer and that my grandpa was trying to keep her there or something >.>' (...she gets kind of irrational sometimes... ). So..my mom went over and said that she couldn't do anything either, so my grandma said to call my auntie yoko (she's retired, but i think she used to work at a lawyers office). so of course everyone jumped on that idea, and my grandma had to tell her everything. after that my grandpa called the rest of the family and family friends and told them everything. My aunt from Canada is trying to get over here to visit her.

Anyways, my mom and uncles have been taking turns being at the nursing home with my grandma (with my grandpa tagging along with one or the other of them since he doesn't want to drive). Besides them, the rest of the family has been over to visit several times.

I went to visit on Friday morning with my mom. When we got there, my grandma's pain meds had started to wear off or something, because she would like close her eyes, snore for a couple of seconds, wake up and  moan, flail and reach out for us, and have us pull her up, and in a few seconds she'd lay back down and it would repeat...endlessly =/

Sunday I went over again around 4 before going back to school. My uncles and grandpa had been over before and she'd been sleeping the whole time. So my mom and I went and she was sleeping until around 6:30, but then the medication started wearing off and so the rest of the time was spent trying to get her to take her medicationsand stuff. There's either liquid or pills. They ground up the pills into applesauce, but she wouldn't take it, all she did was manage to bite the spoon. My mom got it in her mouth, but when we left that night, she still hadn't swallowed it...

The feeling of helplessness sucks...

So...apparently i'm not on the computer as much as i think i am...at least not on the weekends XD

Saturday:
~ shopping spree at Walmart
~Kevin paying for me for basically the whole day... =O

Sunday:
~going to The Old Spaghetti Factory with my mom (we haven't been out to eat together since I was but a wee lass haha)

On Saturday I woke up super early to go with my mom to the hospital and after staying there for maybe 20 minutes or so, I went home with my uncle (he'd stayed the night so my grandpa could go home and get some rest, so my mom was relieving him for the day). After i got back, i did some laundry and took a nap for maybe 45 minutes before finishing my laundry and walking over to Kevin's house. We sat around for a while before finally deciding to go to Foo Foo Tei for ramen. ...my ramen was super salty, so i couldn't finish it though >.o (and so, i don't recommend the crab omelet one at ALL DD= ). After eating, we went to Walmart so Kevin could get some stuff for his dorm. Afterwards we went back to his house until we got hungry and went to Ledo Cafe for dinner before he dropped me off for the night. After he dropped me off, I read for my Pop/Folk Religion of Korea class and did my write up before going to sleep.
Btw, thanks Kevin, for helping make my day 100 times better than it started out! You really didn't have to pay for me for basically the whole day... (;~;)~<3

Today, I went to my grandparents' house so I could use the internet and post my write-up, took a shower, and then went with my mom to the hospital to visit my grandma. My mom and I had an argument with her when she said she wanted to get up, and it sounded like she wanted to get up to go to the bathroom and we were like ...no...you're not allowed to get out of bed, the alarm will go off. And she got mad -.-' Finally my grandpa said that she just wanted to sit up on the edge of the bed so we let her do that for a while before she wanted to lay back down, and then fell asleep for the rest of the time we were there. Around 4:30 or so, my mom and I went to The Old Spaghetti Factory before she took me back to school, where I am now studying for my kanji test tomorrow.

Bah, I missed a day again, but Thursday night I didn't really go online, and I was just so exhausted. And yesterday, I wasn't home/have no internet access when I am home.

Anyways...

Thursday:
~Got to show Kevin around UCLA finally
~went to 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica
~had some nummy foods at Gaucho Grill
~getting Michael's birthday present (a 5 figure set of 4 troopers and anakin)

Friday:
~first time Kevin has ever been in my house
~going with Tracy and Kevin, and trying a different Tea Station
~taking Michael out to dinner

Thursday,
I ended up going to sleep at like almost 5 because I had to finish homework for class. Kevin stayed up with me most of that time though, but it cost him in the morning haha D;
I woke up and went to class, then waited for Kevin to meet me so we could walk around the school since we didnt end up doing it on Wednesday. He was really tired though, and it was pretty tedious trying to drag him probably over a mile as we darted from place to place looking at things. We managed to visit Powell Library, the Janyss steps and the fountain at the top, the inverted fountain, the elevators in the Physics and Astronomy building, Founder's Rock, and the Sculpture gardens before heading back to the dorm. Kevin passed out on my bed while I went and took a shower, and eventually, at around 6 we were off to the bus stop to go to Santa Monica. we got there, and after walking around for a bit, found a toy store where we found Michael's gift! We walked around for a while more looking for a place to eat before finally deciding on Gaucho Grill. We ended up getting the special mix, which cost $46 (for two people, but still) >.o It came out and holy crap there was so much food. It came with a link of sausage, half a chicken, a new york steak, sirloin steak, and mollejas (er...sweetbreads which equals calf pancreas). It also came with two huge side orders, of which we ended up getting grilled onions and sauteed garlic spinach :3~
After that we went and got some gelato before heading towards the bus. Sadly, the bus came before we finished our gelato. We figured we'd try and get on, but the bus driver saw Kevin's gelato and told him to get rid of it, which...unexpectedly, he did! ...instead of just getting off the bus and waiting for another one >.o' We finally got back and went back to my room for a while before going out and getting a smoothie and walking a bit down "rape trail" (Saxon Trail is it's real name). Since it was Thursday, there were several parties going on at the Frat houses across the street haha. We came back and just passed out for the night.

Friday,
My uncle picked us up around 1-ish and we went back to my grandparents' house where Kevin actually got let in! :D
The whole time we've been together, he's never been let into my house, but since my grandparents weren't there (my grandma is still in the hospital, and my grandpa has been staying there) and my mom and uncle don't care so much, he got let in ^^
I showed him around and stuff, and after my mom was done finishing my grandpa's laundry, she dropped us off at Kevin's house. We sat around for a little bit before Tracy came and we went to Wells Fargo so Kevin could cash his check/open an account. Finally, after that we went to Tea Station in Alhambra and had some nummy tea :3~
When we were done, we went to Michael's house, came back to Kevin's house to drop off Tracy and check directions, then off to Koreatown we went. We went to a place called SooWon Korean BBQ. We ended up ordering the $100 combo special (so expensive but oh so GOOD). There was a TON of food, and I'm amazed that the 3 of us managed to finish it all. Kevin and I split the bill (since it was for Michael's birthday and all) and we headed back to Michael's house where we watched Lady & the Tramp before getting drinks from Phoenix inn, dropping off Michael, and going home.

So. The concert itself was fun, but everything else surrounding it has disappointed me. Thoroughly.

Anyways, Saturday, I woke up at 7:45...when my mom woke me up because Kevin had called (i set my alarm...but I don't remember it going off...huh...) So I hurriedly got ready, and soonly after Jeffers, Remy, and Kevin came to pick me up. We retrieved Connie, and went to Colonial Kitchen in Pasadena for breakfast. The food was pretty good (and not too horribly expensive either, yay!).,  Finally we were off, and we would have gotten there sooner, but somehow we ended up going too far and ending up near UCLA
...funny, i try and get back to UCLA and I end up at the Wiltern, I try to get to the Wiltern, and I end up by UCLA heh.
we got parking, and found the end of the line (by the parking structure) and prepared for our long camp-out.

Kevin and I left to explore a few times and walked around CVS and Ralphs before going off to see what we could find in the surrounding area. After randomly getting asked for money by some dude (that Kevin actually did give money to...) we found a small tea place where we got some iced tea (I got lotus blossom tea!). After we got tea, we called Molly to see if she was going to come or not, but it turns out that she couldn't come =( So Remy ended up giving the ticket to her friend Pat.
A lot more sitting and standing was done, and around 4 or so Camilla came. It was cool seeing her again since I haven't in a bit and catching up! =D

The line moved waaay like 2 hours early because of some stupid mixup, but finally a bit after 7 they started letting people in. ....with cameras and stuff (WTF? I hadn't taken my camera with me because they usually dont allow photography, and i didn't want it confiscated ><' ). Camilla, Kevin and I got separated from the rest of the group and ended up stage left on the 2nd tier rail (aka Die's side <3). First, Camilla went to get merch, and when she came back I went and squished myself in that unmoving mass of people. I bought a shirt, poster, and their new album Uroboros. I saw that after the show they were going to sign albums, and I was overjoyed.

The opening band was The Human Abstract. I didn't like their album, but they were pretty good lived and the 3 of us enjoyed them. Still...they weren't really enough to get the crowd pumped i guess (and I do agree that the strobe lights needed to be shot down -.-' ).

After their set, we watched the screen on stage that people could send text comments to. ...there was much Rick rolling and other randomness, including a special message from the other group that said "Kailea we can see youuuu" or something heh.

Finally, the screen went up, the name of the tour was shined on the back of the stage, and the guys came out to Sa Bir. I kind of miss G.D.S and the "Kill, Kill, Kill" thing, but it's still a good opener. From there on, it's something of a blur to me. My side didn't have  any crazy people or anything, so it was a nice and smooth time with lots of rocking out by the 3 of us. Kyo's a capellas as always were breathtaking(I hear he got a hard on? I didn't notice anything, but then again I wasn't that close)
They had a nice selection of fast and slower songs (and older and newer songs =D) like The Final, and Clever Sleazoid, as well as Dozing green, and IIID Empire and a bunch of others I forgot. I'd forgotten how tiny Kyo really is! ...and ...wtf @ Toshiya's hair. He looked like the vocalist from Kagerou >.o. Die, Shinya, and Kaoru haven't changed too much though haha. Toshiya was all over the place  The only complaint I have? Is that the band, is loud. But halfway through the concert the sound guys amped up the volume even more! >( My ears were not happy afterwards -_-'. Their set was over way too soon, but luckily the break in between the encore was really short and they came back soon after and we got to rock out some more =D. After the band was done, they threw out picks, drumsticks and drum heads. Not very many things made it near us, so there weren't any opportunities to snag anything =/

Anyways, after we got herded out of the room, Camilla and I went to go stand in line for the cd signing and Kevin went to find the others. Camilla got shooed away to the waiting area, and I stood in a big mob alone for a while, slowly moving up. I was about half way, and then I got a call. Remy said that we had to leave right then. I stood there for a good minute or two deciding whether I should be a selfish bitch and say screw you and stay in line, or whether I should go because it sounded like they were going to leave me and kevin behind. Well...with all the bad experiences I've had getting left behind, I decided to just leave. I went over to get Camilla and was devastated when I realized that it was Die and Shinya doing signings (Die is my favourite, and Shinya is probably my 2nd fave :[ ). So... we left, and I found everyone finally, and we ended up standing outside forever while they figured out what to do. I was less than amused by then, because I could have stayed in line, and in that amount of time probably could have done the meet and greet thing. (and if you know me, it took me a lot just to even get in that line at all, I'm so anxious i tend not to even get in line, especially all by myself, so actually getting up the courage to do so and then being shot down, hurt a lot  ><').

So...after they finally figured out what we were doing, we were on the road (with Pat on the floor since she was our 6th passenger) and dropped her off before going to Garden Cafe in Arcadia. Jeffers dropped everyone off, and dropped me off at Kevin's house so he could take me home. The fog was so thick, that it was near impossible to see anything in front of us, but eventually he got to my house and managed to get himself home safely (wootwoot XD)

So. I'm glad that the concert itself was a lot of fun, I know Camilla really got into it (dreads a flyin' and everything! XD) and Kevin seemed to enjoy himself considering it was his first concert at a bigger venue, so I was at least happy about that ^-^

...but now, I have no voice. I lost it half way through the concert, and i think it's because of this new cold I've caught ><'

er...i'll update about how my halloween weekend went later...

because I dunno when I'll have my laptop working again! :(
I'm currently on my roommate's laptop since she's in class.

I dropped mine in class this morning, and ever since then it's been refusing to start up correctly T_T

so yeah...if you don't see me online for a while, that's why :(

I went to sleep at like... 4 something last night, because I was studying for my Japan Civilization quiz and my Japanese test.

...I bombed the quiz. Like... i got 2 out of 10 right T^T
I HAVE to do good on the midterm on Thursday or I'm FUCKED. It's worth 25% of my grade so...that definitely means no sleeping for me Wednesday night 8D

the japanese test... I didn't do so well, but at least I didn't bomb it as much as the Japan Civ class >.>' *sigh*

and now...I'm working on my oral report thingy for Japanese class. Sadly... I made it TOO long D:
The program cuts me off after a minute -.-' So now I'm trying to figure out how to shorten it haha D;

...tomorrow...i guess it's today actually haha is All Hills Halloween so all the little kiddies will be coming 8D

...most HORRIBLE timing for this thing. Halloween isn't even till next week anyways, why wouldn't they do it next week  :(

Friday was my birthday BBQ. Thanks to everyone that went, I'm glad most of you seemed to have fun, and it was nice seeing some people I haven't seen in a while!

I woke up to do my laundry, and then took a shower while my 2nd load was drying. when I got out, i realized that Michael had called me, so I really started rushing around like crazy. I ran out to get my stuff. Even though the dryer hadn't gone off yet, stuff was pretty dry so yay =D
Michael called when he arrived and i ran around like an idiot some more when I realized that I didnt' have my keys >.>' I locked the house as best as possible, and we left and met up with Remy, Connie and Jeffers at Costco and I bought hamburgers, buns, and some other stuff before heading back to MPK. Michael and I went to pick up some more stuff at 99 Ranch Market and Ralphs, and then we headed to Kevin's house. Where...we waited for people and for Kevin's dad to figure out if his car was drivable. It also turns out that in addition to his car being messed up, Kevin's cat Fluffer was really sick too ;~;
The car wasn't drivable though,  so once Tracy and Tony came, and we realized Emily wasn't going to come back, Michael and Tony headed off to Remy's house and Tracy, Kevin and I headed off to pick up Amy, go to Big Lots for a few more things, and then finally heading to the party ...at 5. When...we were supposed to be there before 4 >.>''

Everyone except Bun, Elene, Bun's friend, Fro, Angel and Jacky was there already, and I felt kind of bad being so late :'(
The party itself went ok, lots of nummy food and stuff. But... everyone was in separate groups (as usual). I tried to walk around a bit, but I still didn't really talk to everyone, I don't think I interacted with Fro much at all :( and... like...half of that group left to go get Starbucks at some point before coming back.

Eventually everyone had arrived, and once it started getting dark, they set ablaze the cake that Remy, Jeffer and Connie had made =D
...i say that because they put 21 candles on it ... haha
After I cut the cake (and spliced the heart on it in two...) I took some pictures with people, and people started to leave. Eventually it was just a few of us left, as most of the group had gone to Connie O's house or gone home.

Remy, Connie L., Jeffers, Michael, Kevin, Amy, Tony, and I went off to Tea Station for some drinks and making paper airplanes out of the placemats (...gawd we're so immature haha XD)
After that we walked around for a bit before splitting up people and going home.

So yeah, twas ...fun...but at the same time, things just felt off for me =/
Every year that I try and put together something, it seems like something bad happens to someone.
a couple of years ago, Tracy's mom was in the hospital, last year... i don't remember but I think there was something, and this year... Kevin's car overheated, and his cat is really really sick =(

I should just give up on these things. really. It's like my birthday parties carry bad juju with them or something. It was also pretty stressful putting it together, getting everyone notified, trying to get RSVPs from everyone, and trying to get a list of what people were bringing. I'm amazed I got as many replies as I did. Usually all i get are "maybe" or "Yeah I'll come"and then after, they don't end up showing up. Also, I bought all of the meat and stuff for the party, and I asked that people could pitch in a bit of money, but I got just over half back, and from less than half of the people =/ I'm glad that the expense wasn't over $100 though, because that would have sucked -.-'

Anyways... I think at this point, I have to finally accept that... as much as I try, I really don't think I'll ever be as close with the group as I was before. I barely spoke to most of them, and some of them not really at all. I try and at least invite them for big events and stuff, but... it seems like that effort really isn't reciprocated. I was talking with Remy about it and how after high school, things just...changed. I don't think I have the strength to keep putting forth so much effort into trying to hold together the past anymore...
I don't want to let go... but I can feel it slipping through my fingers...

So... Tuesday night, my friend (literally) dragged me to the lounge and suprised me with a party =D
There were a couple of people from the floor too, so it was nice to be able to talk to some people I haven't talked to before ^^

Anyways, after that, there was a fire drill around 7:30 or so, and then Priscilla's parents came to visit. I was webcamming with Kevin and had left it on, and Priscilla's dad was like, Can he see me?

... and apparently when I left to go get a smoothie from Bruin Cafe, Priscilla's dad tried to scare Kevin O-o;; *shrug*

I ended up going to sleep at like... almost 4am, and I had class at 7.

I...could have made it to class slightly late, but... I figured I could mooch notes from Atom and Ricky later, so... I went back to sleep and woke up just in time for my Japanese class haha.

And now...I'm sitting here waiting for people to come  back so we can get lunch 8D
...apparently we want to try and get out and explore a bit tonight, but we'll see how well that goes haha
Oh yeah...and did i mention that our room is like the hang-out and/or study room? Thuy Vy and Diana don't really like their roommates that much, so they bum here. I guess I should be glad that I got lucky and my roommates are cool ^^

First, I woke up late I 'm usually out the door by a bit before 7:40
...I woke up at 7:36 -_-; I got out the door within 10 minutes though and dashed off to class. I actually made it only a couple of minutes late, but before the teacher started so WOOT!
Also, Atom texted (and apparently called me...but there's no reception in my room so I only got the voicemails) me that his clutch stopped working correctly on the FREEWAY X__X' and so he wasn't going to be able to come to school =/
Oh, and my grandma is having surgery today =/

anyways, at least last night wasn't too bad! =)
right after midnight, my friends gave me this basket of cards and stuff
They're so awesome ;~;
